10 Hours of Sleep
digital print / 16" x 10"
For this series I photographed one night of sleep. The series consists of 30 images of sleep, each taken 20 minutes apart. Sleeping is something that everyone does, but nobody knows what physically happens during these hours. The bed alone is a very interesting space where we spend a big portion of our lives. Most people are born and will die in a bed. By photographing the process of sleeping, I let people enter that private space of intimacy and interaction. The wrinkled sheets create sculptural forms, making the photographs easier to enter.
