Newspaper Portraits
digital photographic print mounted on aluminum / 44" x 36" x 0.5"
Human experiences and emotions inspire me to create the images I make in my photographic practice. I am drawn to themes of what makes us human. I am drawn to emotional vulnerability, the human sentient, and gestural interactions in public spaces. Newspaper Portraits is a series of portraits of people who could identify themselves with certain pages or parts of the newspaper. These individuals picked parts of the newspaper they anticipate reading daily. I visually depicted this by placing newspaper sections around their faces, keeping the eye/s in view to show how media could shape our perspective of society.
