This was the start of a series of portraits of typical Canadian characters called The Founders of Canada series. It was to include a fur trader, a politician, a lumberjack, and a farmer. Using the painterly aspects of Polaroid, this photo is meant to recall the classical oil paintings often found in government buildings depicting important figures.
