This image is from a series of photos of my friends. The images in the series are neither portraits nor documents but something in between, or something else entirely. The backgrounds are walls, rooms, or parks, but they lack identifying features: they could be any wall, any room, any park. The girls resemble one another, and the same girls appear again and again until they, like the backgrounds, are interchangeable.
