This work centres on an interest in formal aesthetics and its relationship to shape, texture, line, and colour. I pull my inspiration from nature as I see it as a playground of complex abstract imagery. The painting becomes a new playground where unexpected relationships and multiple perspectives can be explored through the interplay of fragments of these natural patterns. The patterns I work with come from macro photography I have taken over the years.
