Sculpture Made of Trash
trees (largest 6' x 5'), branches, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, nails, concrete, plant containers
Found on the road labelled as “trash” was a bunch of cardboard boxes, magazines, newpapers, and cut-up trees. All these materials originated from the same organic life force. What combinations have we used these materials for? And what properties do they help to exploit or distribute for global information? Gathering these materials, I made new negotiations for them by pushing art toward life and creating different possibilities for the materials to exist. These investigations start with boxes holding trees and paper nailed to twigs. Eventually the trees became whole again, regaining what was originally taken from them.
