Looking into ideas behind participatory design and student relations between the art and design departments at Emily Carr, I decided to test several observations regarding these by initiating a collaborative effort with Benjamin Larose, a fourth-year Emily Carr film and media student. The project involved establishing very personal relations with Larose and was very much a research project on process, articulation, and collaboration. It resulted in various explorations of material and medium in promotional material as well as a joint effort in designing a gallery space for Larose’s first solo show.
