One Space
colour inkjet print on plexiglas / 36" x 24" x 6"
After having lived in a small apartment in Europe and returning home to Vancouver, I grew increasingly fascinated with small living spaces. As a result, I started asking questions about the physical and, more increasingly, the ephemeral and phenomenological aspects of the spaces we inhabit and call home. Through cultural probe research of people living in similar arrangements, I decided to culminate my exploration in a representation of each person’s space—abstracting the physical and showing how the activities and identities we navigate within a condensed space overlap and blur to create something to be celebrated.
